Help Kids Recognize Patterns

In addition to making sure that your children are able to use patterns books, it's also a good idea to pick up some fun games that help them learn how a pattern works. For example, many games use fun shapes, like large paper clips, monkeys or blocks to encourage children to group like colors and shapes together. Stickers are another way to help them see similar patterns between shapes, and these can even be used inside of their books, as well. Pattern comprehension games get more complicated as you go up in grade level, so make sure you are checking the age group on the one that you're interested in.

Math Test Preparation

Children should also be taught how to approach basic troubleshooting in all aspects of mathematics so that they can solve problems that don't follow standard formulas.
