1.Paint your paper plate using a paint brush or sponge. (A
sponge might work better for younger children because the plate will
get soggy with too much paint.)
2.Cut out a small triangle from one side of the plate to create a mouth. Staple this triangle to the other end of the plate to make a tailfin.
3.Cut your tissue paper into small 2”-3” teardrop-shaped strips. These will be your fish’s scales. Glue the scales onto the top of the plate.
4.Complete your fish with a large googly eye or paper eye in the top left (or right) corner.

Colored Sand Bottle Art
This is a great craft for kids of all ages! You can make colored sand using salt and either chalk or food coloring. Then separate the different colors into
bowls. Give
each of your kids a small jar, and let them pour the colors of their choice
into the jar using a funnel or folded piece of construction paper. For extra fun, let your kids
make the colored sand themselves!
For Chalk:
1.Pour your salt (as much as you think you will need for one color) onto a
paper plate.
2.Take a piece of chalk and rub it against the salt on your plate in a side-to-side motion. You will soon start to see the color of the chalk coming off onto the salt. Continue rubbing until you get the color you desire. Pour this colored salt into a bowl.
3.Clean off the excess salt from your plate. Then repeat steps one and two for as many colors as you would like.

*Tip: Make sure you make enough sand to fill all of the jars. You
might want to measure out your salt initially using the size of jar that your
kids are going to fill. It’s better to make a little more than you think you
will need since the salt will settle a little bit after it’s poured into the
jars.
